Follow the Guiding Star

The core of our philosophy is the Guiding Star–a five-point strategic tool for dealing with complicated life issues. Programs can change, procedures can change, the players in a any given situation can change–but the five Guiding Star skills don’t change. They work for ANY system.

Road Map®’s Guiding Star method helps people to:

(1) Break down a complicated situation into manageable goals.

(2) Find information that matters to their unique needs.

(3) Communicate their strengths and concerns to providers of services.

(4) Organize records, track progress, and understand data used to make decisions.

(5) Build relationships that lead to services and support.
